Whole Foods To Lose Weight

“ I have been eating oats with great benefit in losing weight. Is this normal?”
My partner and I have switched (about 4 months ago), to eating oats for breakfast 5-6 mornings. We were eating boxed, dry cereal, or eggs in some form, often toast.
We’re making the “Overnight Oats” in batches of 2-3 servings for each of us. Google recipes.
Ours uses old-fashioned oats, unsweetened almond milk, some shredded, unsweetened coconut, and sometimes raisins or chopped apple.
I sweeten mine with a bit of maple syrup or stevia. Making no other changes in our diet or exercise, my partner has lost 9 pounds and I’m down 6 pounds.
Another unexpected benefit for me, is that the diverticulitis pain I’ve had for a long time, has gone away. Overnight Oats seem to act like scrubbing bubbles for the colon.
Love to hear your results. I never much liked the consistency of cooked oats but the “Overnight Oats” I find delicious.”

The benefits of eating whole grains has been known for years.
It is something that is a big part of my diet along with seeds.
“The big difference is that whole grains keep your blood sugar stable for a longer time.”
They prevent you from having cravings for other types of sugar snacks. Oats is one grain that lowers cholesterol as well.
I know it’s one of my favourites when I go on holidays.
I do not eat processed cereals that are full of sugar at any time. Oats is simple and keeps you fuller for longer.
So just by choosing whole grains and seeds you can “see” a big improvement in weight loss. As long as you are not over eating and by eliminating junk food. There should be weight loss especially if you eliminate the sugar type cereals and lower your calorie intake!
You are eliminating one of the “biggest” culprits in keeping us fat. Do not forget about other whole foods such as buckwheat, quinoa, and chia seeds. Note these seeds are very beneficial for your health as well.
Combined these with ground flax seeds and you will have a meal that satisfies and stabilises your blood sugars. Plus it’s very good for your colon.
I grind my own flax seeds and quinoa.
To cook buckwheat you boil water and tip over ½ cup of whole buckwheat in a small thermos with a wide neck.
Tighten the lid, (leave overnight) it will be cooked in the morning.
With any of these types of meals you can add whatever fruit
that is in season.
The biggest win for you will be that you will consume different minerals. Not to mention the added benefit of weight loss and general health. That is why it is so important to switch to whole foods and just eliminate processed food.
You will lose weight if you do not over eat and get enough sleep and exercise. The exercise needs to be consistent and steady. No “marathon” efforts and then days of nothing because of soreness or lack of motivation due to those “hard” days.
That’s why it’s important to have a program to build muscles
and burn extra calories.
