70 Year Old Lost Weight With Diet Only

A 70 year old reader asks,
“I have lost weight with diet only, about 40 pounds.
I lost a lot of muscle and strength.
I am not a couch potato. As I handled and mixed 144
bags of concrete mix. I am building a deck and remodelling the house.
My doctor said I can weight train but not to exhaustion or high intensity.

Hi Larry, thanks for your question!
You are working so hard mixing concrete.
It certainly is physical work.
It’s always a struggle to lose those last few pounds.
Most of us experience the same challenge.
You need a program that you can perform to strengthen and tone muscles in a systematic way.
This will “burn” those last few pounds.
Being active is the best exercise.
Most of the overweight people in the population do not do any exercise.
Inactivity and too much of the wrong foods leads to obesity.
They say the length of ones belt size determines our longevity as well.
It is really great that you want to lose those extra pounds and tone and strengthen your muscles as well.
You are an inspiration to many younger people who wouldn’t do half the amount of exercise you do.
The program that I am recommending and have been using for just over a year now can be as intense as you want to make it. That being said, you can certainly do low intensity.
I think it will be of a great benefit for you as the exercises are simple and easy to do. You can really take the exercises in a steady way and the muscle strength can be felt coming back in a short time.
Just by doing two 30 minute workouts per week you can certainly get those extra pounds off.
Also check your diet that you are not having too much coffee, alcohol, sugar and processed carbohydrates.
Stick to a simple but healthy eating plan and avoid deep fried fast food.
Add cold pressed olive oil and macadamia oil for salads, coconut oil or ghee for frying. Keep hydrated and drink plenty of water when working. Make sure you are getting enough sleep, at least 7 to 8 hours.
